Normandale Playcentre

Jack's on the Starter session this year, which is all littlies around his age. I think he's the youngest, he was last year, and he's the only one still crawling anyway! So every Friday we put on painting t shirts (just in case) for a couple of hours of climbing, crawling, swinging, painting, eating (play dough & paint), sand, water, slides, singing.... and basically a good workout for the Mums chasing them around! This week we made a trip to Lollipops which was one giant indoor playground with toys and balls and a merry go round! Jack was a bit small for some of it but still had heaps of fun. I think I might wait until he's had more vaccinations though, before we go again...

Kat & Dan's Wedding

11 March 2006
Jack's godmother Kat was wed at Cape Kidnappers in the Hawke's Bay. It was such a beautiful place, out on a clifftop overlooking the beach and the endless horizon... aaaah (-: The guests were surprised when they arrived at the venue in Clifton, only to be bundled into buses and driven out to the Cape for the ceremony. The bride was beautiful, the food was scrummy, the setting was lovely, and the whole weekend went off smoothly. I also got to catch up with a couple of friends from Sacred Heart who I haven't seen for years.
Jack and Stuart were kitted out in the appropriate attire (see photos). Aren't they gorgeous!!!
Jack was the best behaved guest there, and we all had such a lovely time. Kat & Dan spent a week down on the West Coast of the SI for thier honeymoon and have now moved into thier new home here in Wellington. Yay! Kat & I haven't lived in the same town since high school!
So here's those pics....

Catch up

Well, it's been such a busy time and I'm soooo sorry I haven't been keeping this up to date... so I've got a bit of catching up to do!
First of all, Jack's first birthday! Hard to believe but it was true, one year since the wee man arrived so we thought we'd better throw a party for him (0:
We had a barbie with some of our's and Jack's friends, then later on we planted a special tree for Jack, with his placenta buried beneath. Jack got tons of new toys and clothes, but the best part was sharing the day with friends and family. Mummy gets 10/10 for cake making (after a sleepless night worrying about it!). So our little boy is not so little now, and we love him more and more every day!

Jack's tree

Mum Whitaker was down to stay from 9-20 February, mainly just interested in seeing Jack but she had to put up with us too! We had a lovely time, going for a couple of walks, out for lunches and even coffee group. Staurt & I even got to go out a couple times while she stayed at home with Jack. Jack loved having his Gran doting on him and we all can't wait for the next visit. Hopefully Grandpa will come too!

We took heaps of photos while she was here, but this is the only one of Mum herself!

So... what else have we been up to apart from going to lots of first birthday parties? Around the Bays was on 19 Feb - a 7km walk/run (Jack, Margaret & I walked, Stuart ran) - it was a beautiful day and we all really enjoyed it. Jack and I have been back at Aquababies and Playcentre - I'll have to get some photos of those to show off - so cute!
Stuart's just left for Auckland fora couple of days to start his Uni course so Jack and I are on our own. Next weekend we're all heading up to Napier for Kat & Dan's wedding (starring yours truly as bridesmaid), then it's only a couple of weeks until Stuart leaves for Scotland - Cardiac conference, away for 3 weeks - can't remember if I mentioned it before. So we're a busy househod as usual!
In the gossip column - Haley and Yosmani are engaged!!! They are planning for a Spain wedding next Sept/Oct then home to NZ for a second wedding in December - Yay!
Well that's all for now, I'll try to be better at updating...
Here's a couple more pics of Jack just cos he's so cute!
Ciao for now xxx
